Upside Down Snow Globe - Inevitable War

Darker spark.

Such irony. Yet true.

I started this blog from one single metaphor, a spark, and that is the upside down snow globe metaphor: life without action is boring, but we can make it exciting by taking initiative and turning life upside down, much like how we turn a snow globe upside down.

Conflict.

The world is relative. Success is sweetest for those who fail. Money is sweetest for those who do not have enough. Romance is sweetest for those who do not have romance... Without stress, there would be no relaxation. Without struggle, there would be no achievement. Without war, there would be no peace

Wait. What?

Can there be peace without war? Humans always fought each other for one thing or another, verbally or physically. It is only natural to fight when we all are unique and have differing opinions. Peace is learning to live in harmony despite differences and friction.

The Upside Down Snow Globe

A snow globe is beautiful when snow is falling. To make snow fall, we have to turn the snow globe upside down. After that, we set it back upright and enjoy a few minutes of ethereal beauty. And then, we are back to where we started.

When we turn the world upside down, we are saying: "This world is not good enough. We have to change something drastic about it to make it pretty again."

This realization is a bit daunting.

Can nothing stay golden forever?

Golden ages come and go. Good things come and go. Nothing is persistent. Everything is changing. If everything is changing, then why is persistence such a good virtue? Why is innocence such a good trait?

The Curse of Humanity

is to want things we can't have. To crave for the ephemeral beauty. Perhaps the curse isn't a curse; after all, we strive to fight against nature to achieve the things we want. We stay persistent to accomplish a goal. We stay undaunted in front of unfair odds. We try to make our statements by defying nature's unfairness.

Another form of allure.

(Sorry, I wanted a synonym for beauty)

Maybe nature is inherently unfair, cruel, and hellish. After all, the fittest survive and the weakest suffer. That is why we strive to row against the current of nature. We fight. We heal. We grow. We live another day to stand for our belief in this fickle world.

Maybe the world isn't right, to begin with. Maybe we have to turn it upside down, again and again.
